A site can include metering circuits, equipment status and control outputs. Select the meters, gateway and I/O modules required, then connect the corresponding data and commands to the existing system.
List the data and equipment you need
List three-phase mains, single-phase branches, run/fault signals and output loads separately. If an energy, property or equipment system is already in use, include its interface specification.
Select equipment for the points
Use M1 with three external CTs for three-phase circuits and M4 for single-phase branches. AG-2701X connects RS485 to enterprise Ethernet. Select AC-2705X where external status inputs or relay outputs are needed.
Connect the existing system
For meters and I/O status, align device addresses, registers, units and sampling periods. Existing AG Modbus TCP conversion reads only 03/04. Relay commands 05/0F use complete RTU transport; the host handles CRC, scheduling and responses.
Separate commands from equipment feedback
The AC output bitmap represents relay command state. Confirming actual fan, pump or contactor operation requires its feedback signal. Configure operator permissions, interlocks and failure states alongside it.
Start with one area
Start with one distribution board or equipment area. Check wiring, reads, reconnection and control feedback before extending to other areas. Give devices unique addresses and keep one master per bus segment.
Keep records for replacement and maintenance
Keep circuit and point schedules, wiring and network settings, device and firmware versions, point maps and configuration backups. Use these when replacing meters, changing control circuits or upgrading systems.
