Why these three products?
M1 covers three-phase supplies and equipment, M4 covers single-phase branches and AG-2701X provides Ethernet access. Scale quantities and bus zones without adding another meter model.
Does a network cable make the meter readable?
Confirm RS485 variants, protocols and point maps first. Raw TCP needs a host parser; Modbus needs a compatible RTU function 03/04 map. Joint physical testing remains pending.
How can the two RS485 channels be used?
Raw TCP provides one connection on each of P1 and P2. Modbus TCP selects P1 or P2 and allows one connection. Avoid multiple polling masters on one bus. The channels do not provide independently isolated power domains.
What about switching or billing?
This proposal starts with electricity-data collection and integration. General downstream Modbus writes are not implemented. M1 switching needs an external contactor; billing, payment and control require separate equipment, software and acceptance scopes.

Add AC-2705X for equipment status and control

Extend the M1, M4 and AG-2701X collection setup with AC-2705X where needed: four isolated inputs collect status and eight relay outputs connect field controls. Confirm signals, loads and feedback before configuring equipment and software.

Confirm status reads and control writes separately
AG-2701X currently supports only 03/04 reads through Modbus TCP→RTU. AC-2705X input and output-command states can be read with 04. Relay writes using 05/0F require complete RTU frames over raw TCP, with the host handling CRC, polling and scheduling. The read-only gateway route cannot perform these control writes.
Use one agreed protocol route per channel. Output readback reports the command state; actual load operation requires independent feedback. Include interlocks, permissions, failure states and recovery in acceptance tests.
